Greetings from RJD America!

RJD America LLC is a railroad preservation, restoration, and equipment management company founded and operated by experienced railroad professionals. Our team brings decades of direct industry knowledge spanning steam, diesel, and electric locomotive operations; passenger and freight service; mechanical systems; railroad safety; technology; and regulatory compliance.

We are not simply railroad enthusiasts—we are active and former railroaders committed to preserving significant equipment and returning it to meaningful use. Our principal undertaking is the comprehensive restoration of Chesapeake & Ohio Railway No. 614, the last commercially built mainline passenger steam locomotive constructed by Lima-Hamilton. Built in June 1948, the legendary 4-8-4 Greenbrier is undergoing an extensive mechanical and federally required 1,472-service-day inspection and restoration at the Strasburg Rail Road.

In addition to C&O 614, RJD America owns and manages a growing fleet of historic passenger and support equipment. Our long-term vision is to create an operational heritage railroad fleet capable of supporting excursions, educational programs, public events, private charters, and other preservation initiatives throughout the United States.

Our work combines respect for railroad history with contemporary professional standards. From mechanical restoration and passenger-car rehabilitation to communications, onboard technology, safety systems, and Positive Train Control planning, we are developing the infrastructure necessary to operate historic railroad equipment responsibly in the modern railroad environment.

RJD America also partners with the National Railroad Equipment Preservation Foundation to promote education, volunteer participation, skills development, and the responsible stewardship of historic railroad equipment.

We invite you to follow our progress, support our projects, and become part of the continuing story of American railroading.

RJD America — "Preserving the Past. Powering the Future."
